I ventured to meet my friend’s son, Ford, in the hospital. I made him a stuffed “F” and accompanying “ord” cube. The cube can also be rotated to reflect Ford’s mood.

Mr. Rennie is bringing his vastly expanded contemporary-art collection – thousands of pieces that experts say form one of the best private contemporary-art holdings in the world – to the east side, a place where he says his kind of art belongs. “The Downtown Eastside is marginalized, and a lot of what I have is about marginalization, oppression and resistance,” Mr. Rennie said as he walked through construction chaos a few days before opening.

In a move that meshes perfectly with Mr. Rennie’s interest in history and appropriation, the site of his museum is the 120-year-old Wing Sang building, where generations of early Chinese pioneers lived and operated their businesses.
He will open the museum to the public – once a week (Thursdays according to the Vancouver Sun) by appointment is the plan for the moment – but won’t charge admission. And he said the profits from his next five to 10 years of real-estate work will go to establishing a foundation to maintain the museum. He estimates it will take about 15 years to show everything he has collected, one exhibit at a time.

Back from the brink after only being given a 999/1000 chance of survival!
I’m back from my 6 day stay at St. Paul’s for an emergency gall bladder removal. Not fun. Highlights included waiting 6 hours in emergency before being given any pain meds and having my hand swell up like a balloon. My IV came out of vein and all the fluid went into my hand which looked like a rubber glove full of hot air. I thought it was just another morphine hallucination but I did infact have a real case of Mickey Mouse hand. I thought morphine was supposed to be incredible but it made me paranoid and only chipped away at my unbearable pain. Next time Demoral. I don’t mind if my story inspires you. Go out in the world and live people, LIVE! Also bring me food, DVD’s and tabloids (perferably British) because I’m still crippled.

We also have no history of colonialism. So we have all of the things that many people admire about the great powers but none of the things that threaten or bother them,” he said.

So, if we have an election this fall, what are the odds we can oust this douche?

A Personal Guarantee.

I received this e-mail from my brother today. I thought I should share it:

“There’s some weird shit out there on youtube, no doubt, but this, my friends, I can personally guarantee will launch straight into the top 5 weirdest youtube vids you’ve ever seen.

I found myself repulsed and fascinated, so get ready, it’s……..it’s amazing.”
